Peace River

PEACE RIVER, a river of western Canada. It rises in the Rocky Mountains near 55 N., and breaking through the mountains, flows N.E. into Slave River, near lake Athabasca. The district between 56 40' and 60 N., and between 112 W. and the Rocky Mountains is usually known as the Peace River district.
